Local House | By @zenarchitects. Built from textural, natural materials, Local House is a sustainable, contemporary home that embraces its leafy surrounds.

Finishes of recycled bricks, textured render, Victorian ash timber and slate pavers define the interior (how good is the crazy paving inside the house!)

There is also a beautiful connection to the exterior with large picture windows that reflect the lush greenery and layered native gardens.

It’s not the material, it’s how you use it. In our Weetangra project with @classicconstructions, linear bricks introduce subtle texture and rhythm, creating interest without competing with the rest of the palette.

It’s a simple material, but used with intention, it completely changes how the room feels.

Proof that good design isn’t about doing more. It’s about choosing the right finishes, and using them well.

Meet Ralph’s House 🐾 Every now and then, a project takes on a personality of its own…and in this case, it belongs to Ralph.

From the moment we started photographing, Ralph made it very clear this was his home. Every room, every corner…he was right there, ready for his moment.

This is a glimpse into the project through Ralph’s eyes, a series of spaces he claimed as his own (which, let’s be honest, is most of them).

Because the best homes aren’t just beautifully designed, they’re lived in, loved, and occasionally taken over by a very confident puppy.

Douglas House | By @homebymmarch & @mancinimade. There’s something so effortlessly refined about this kitchen.

Super Grey Lithostone is layered with dark timber floors and warm neutral joinery that softens the overall palette. The balance is spot on - tonal, grounded and refined.

A beautiful example of how restraint and materiality can do all the heavy lifting. Total kitchen love.

Understated, considered, and quietly luxurious. In our Weetangera ensuite with @classicconstructions, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to create a space that feels calm, refined and a joy to be in.

A custom vanity paired with recessed mirrored cabinets delivers generous storage, while concealed power points allow the finishes to remain uninterrupted.

Soft grey, concrete-look tiles wrap the floor and walls, layered with Carrara marble kitkat tiles and warm brass fixtures. The addition of timber brings warmth and balance, creating a palette that feels relaxing to be in.

It’s a space designed not just to function beautifully, but to slow you down.

When you work with Studio Black Interiors, every detail matters.

Nerrisa Retreat | By @larrittevans. Neutrals - a palette that feels like peace in the chaotic world we live in. Warm whites, gentle greens and the sounds of the birds and the ocean. This home feels so serene and peaceful.

With the landscape outside already drenched in colour, the interiors of this home are designed as a counterbalance

Timber door details for our O’Connor residence. A front door should feel like a ‘welcome home’ and nothing does that quite like natural timber.

The rich grain, organic texture, and timeless beauty of timber creates a warmth that no other material can replicate.

Designing a kitchen that’s functional and sophisticated means making space for the little indulgences, and what better than a dedicated space to make yourself a drink. Bring on those Gin and Tonics!

I incorporated this custom space into a kitchen design, blending it seamlessly with the cabinetry so it felt like an extension of the kitchen.

If you could add an extra space in your kitchen what would it be?

Nude pink mosaic tiles and brass fixtures for our Florey renovation. Over a lifetime, we spend about 2.5 years doing laundry! So why not turn that laundry into a space that’s not just functional, but a little slice of heaven too?

This laundry has space for a stacked washer and dryer, a double hamper, pull out ironing board and plenty of over head storage.
